About Me

My core theoretical knowledge stems from my studies in computer science, which I later enhanced with skills acquired in translation and terminology studies. I have honed my practical translation, localization, and content creation skills through various roles: as a freelance translator collaborating with different language service providers (LSPs), as an editor for a technology-focused magazine, as an in-house terminologist at a Baltic IT and localization company, and as a localization quality manager for Latvian at an international online travel services company.

I specialize in localizing software, apps, and online tools interfaces and user content, translating technical texts (manuals, guides, technical documentation) in IT, telecommunications, engineering, and industrial fields, creating and translating content related to tourism and hospitality, developing and managing technical and tourism industry terminology, and creating and optimizing SEO content. Additionally, I translate and create marketing texts, ensuring their tone, language quality, and suitability for the target audience.

I also specialize in the transliteration of place names and personal names, which is crucial for geographical and factual information, enabling Latvian users to find the desired destinations, landmarks, or individuals.

For translation and localization tasks, I use computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools such as Trados Studio and translation management systems (TMS) like XTM, Phrase, and WorldServer to ensure consistent translations and utilize modern translation solutions for unified terminology and style. Upon client request, I also provide post-editing services for machine translations.
